Meetings and Social Events
We meet as a group once a month from September through June. These general meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month as a morning meeting followed by a light lunch. General meetings for the months of October, January and April are held in the evening and are followed by dinner. Our Sustainers and Contributors (who have retired from active membership) put on a wonderful Holiday Tea in December, which substitutes for December’s general meeting. The final meeting of the year is our Annual Meeting and Luncheon in mid-June, during which the results of our fundraising efforts for the year are announced.
Meetings are usually held in members’ homes, where we socialize and enjoy the culinary skills of members. The January dinner meeting is in a local restaurant. There is a traditional fall potluck kick-off event, which spouses are invited to attend, and there is always a party or two associated with the fundraiser, such as an empty-house party, a black-tie opening, and a wrap party after show house. Our members go on frequent field trips such as excursions to other show houses, museums, art shows, and so on. A calendar of all activities appears in our monthly members’ newsletter.
